Caltrans has approved a project (Project #EA002591) for a 1.8 mile long Retrofit Soundwall, with a section to run along the 101 Freeway Southbound from Van Nuys Boulevard to the Tujunga Wash. The soundwall will be constructed in varying heights from 10 feet to 14 feet high. The project is currently in the design phase, and is scheduled to begin construction on 03/27/2003 and end construction on 06/15/2004. The portion of the wall nearest Whitsett Avenue is scheduled to begin on 05/15/2003.
